Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a ferrite stainless steel with superior discoloration resistance at high temp. by reducing the C content of a Cr stainless steel and adding Si.
CONSTITUTION: This stainless steel consists of ≤0.05% C, 1.5W4.5% Si, ≤1% Mn, 15W25% Cr and the balance Fe. To enhance the workability ≤1.5% in total of two or more among Ti, Zr and Nb may be added besides said components. Said stainless steel has superior discoloration resistance at ≤800°C.
