Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the rate of recovering of waste gases of a converter by operating the amt. of the waste gases to be recovered in accordance with the results of the analysis of said gases, and controlling the number of revolutions of a fan of a waste gas recovering system in accordance with the results of the operations. CONSTITUTION:O2 is top blown with a lance 3 penetrated through a hood 2 mounted with a skirt 2a disposed at the port of a converter 1 in its lower part. The waste gases of the converter 1 are sucked with an exhauster 5 and a fan 6 provided in the middle part of the duct of the hood 2 connecting to a radiation part 4, a dust collector 4a, etc., and are stored in a gas holder 9, from which they are discharged through a chimney 10. During this time, the CO and CO2 in the waste gases in the part 4 are analyzed respectively with analytical devices 11, 12, and the measured outputs thereof, and the measured output of a flowmeter 14 provided in the middle part of the lance 3 and further the flow rate of the gases flowing in the waste gas recovering system such as the part 4 are operated in a flow rate operating device 14. Next, the results of the operations are outputted to a controller 16 for number of revolutions for the purpose of controlling the number of revolutions of a motor 15 driving the blower 5, whereby the number of revolutions of the fan 6 is controlled and the waste gases are recovered efficiently.
