Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily adjust tape tension in stand-by stop mode by a small-sized adjusting device, by using an equalizing spring whose spring constant decreases substantially when a tape has prescribed tension and below. CONSTITUTION:In a supply-side tape tension adjusting device 6, an auxiliary spring 29 having a small spring constant is connected to one end of an equalizing spring 28 connected to a tension post 8 while its other end is fixed to the housing 30 of a VTR, and a partitioning plate 35 is provided as a stopper between springs 28 and 29. Then, only the auxiliary spring 29 operates on, for example, >=20g tension, and the spring 28 operates on <=20g tension by setting their spring constants. In a takeup-side adjusting device 25, the end of a spring 31 connected to a tension post 27 is connected to an element 32 to be guided in a fixed sliding guide body 33, and their spring constants are varied substantially. Therefore, the small-sized adjusting devices 6 and 25 adjust tape tension in stand-by stop mode easily.
