Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a thrust by connecting a balance piston chamber (A) at the front stream side of a rotor with a turbine outlet exhaust chamber a low pressure piping, connecting (A) with an inlet of the turbine using the rotor and connecting the inlet of the turbine with the balance piston chamber at a rear stream side of the rotor using a high pressure piping. CONSTITUTION:Balance piston chambers 30 and 35 are provided on a front stream side and a rear stream side of a rotor 19 respectively. The balance piston chamber 30 is connected by a low pressure piping 34 with a turbine outlet exhaust chamber 29. A turbine inlet side 28 is connected by a high pressure piping 39 with the balance piston chamber 35. Rightward thrusts are an end packing thrust exerting to the edges 19a and 21a and a net blade thrust to an effective part of the blade, and on the contrary the leftward thrust is the one exerting to the edges 22a and 19b. Thus, the thrust before and after the rotor can be reduced drastically.
