Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce toxicity and improve detergency by adding a prescribed amt. of acetone or methyl ethyl ketone to stabilized 1, 1, 1-trichloroethane and performing ultrasonic cleaning. CONSTITUTION:A detergent is prepd. by adding 1-10wt% acetone or methyl ethyl ketone based on the total weight of the solvent to a stabilized 1, 1, 1- trichloroethane compsn. Next, an object to be cleaned stuck with buffing scum is immersed into this detergent and is washed under application of ultrasonic oscillations. By the above-metnioned method, the buffing scum stuck on said object is throughly cleaned, and since the gaseous atmosphere contains less toxicity, the working environment is improved.
