Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a nonsolvent type pressure-sensitive adhesive with excellent adhesion and large agglomeration force, by the two-stage polymn. of an ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion with an acrylic monomer.
CONSTITUTION: Into at least one emulsion (A) selected from aq. emulsions of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride copolymer and ethylene-vinyl acetate-acrylate copolymer, 200W1,000pts.wt. (based on 100pts.wt. solid in the component A) emulsified monomer obtd. by the emulsification of an acrylic monomer such as an acrylic ester, acrylic acid or glycidyl methacrylate with an emulsifier such as an alkylbenzene-sulfonate, is dropped. Then the purpose aq. emulsion-type pressure-sensitive adhesive is obtd. by two-stage polymn. in the presence of a polymn. initiator such as potassium persulfate.
