Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable confirmation of hidden, invisible lines, in the input/output typewriter used as an input/output device for a digital computer, by displaying the line being concurrently printed on a display part. CONSTITUTION:The character codes sent from an input/output control and power source circuit 5 to a printer 4 are received, and the character codes are memorized and displayed on the display part 10 as characters. In this way, the characters which are the same as the characters in the line which are being coucurrently printed by the printer 4 are displayed on the display part 10. The capacity of the character memory in the control circuit 11 is sufficient to contain the number of characters corresponding to that contained in one line in a line printer. In this constitution, the characters being printed by the printer can be confirmed, and the input from a keyboard 3 and the message given to the printer from the computer can be confirmed without time delay.
