Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize the stable high image resolution and high gradation for a picture processor that compares process with a comparison matrix, by giving a minute shift to the comparison matrix for each picture element to increase the gradation properties. CONSTITUTION:The picture information showing a picture element is delivered based on th result of comparison of a binary form corresponding to each matrix element. A video signal 73 given from a camera 71 is converted into a digital signal 77 and then compared with the concentration value of the matrix element stored in the comparison matrix in a memory 79 through a comparator 81. Based on the result of this comparison, the concentration value of each matrix element in the comparison matrix is shifted by a certain minute extent for each picture element of the input picture information. Thus the gradation properties is increased.
