Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively prevent stress corrosion cracking of a high tensile steel product, by applying a corrosionproof paint after an epoxy resin primer compounded with predetermined amounts of a coupling agent and a corrosionproof pigment is applied.
CONSTITUTION: A primer contg. at least one selected from among a chromate- base corrosionproof pigment such as strontium chromate, a molybdate-base corrosion-proof pigment such as zinc molybdate and a condensed phosphate-base corrosionproof pigment such as condensed aluminum phosphate, is used. After an epoxy resin or urethane resin-base primer in which a coupling agent such as β-(3,4-epoxycyclohexyl)ethyltrimethoxysilane and said corrosionproof pigment are incorporated in such amounts as to give 0.3W3wt% coupling agent and 5W 25wt% corrosionproof pigment to a formed coat is applied on the surface of a steel material, the formed coat is coated with a corrosionproof paint such as a thick coat type epoxy resin.
