PURPOSE:To prevent a card overflowing from a stacker, by detecting that the card exists in the stacker, and raising an alarm. CONSTITUTION:As for a detecting part 3, when a card 2 exists in a stacker 1, its contact turns on, therefore, when an electric power supply switch 6 is turned on in a state that it has been forgotten to remove the card from the stacker 1, a signal level of a signal B on the output side of an inverter 9 becomes 1, therefor, an AND circuit 11 is opened. A reset C from a reset signal generating part 10 driven simultaneously when the electric power supply is turned on reaches an OR circuit 14 through the AND circuit 11, and is outputted as an alarm signal D from an output terminal 15. When an operator who has known this alarm removes the card 2 from the stacker 1, the conact of the detecting part 3 becomes off. Subsequently, when read of the card is started, a counter 13 starts counting, and its count value indicates exactly the number of cards dischcarged to the stacker 1.
