Abstract
PURPOSE:To protect an apparatus to be tested, and to make a voltage waveform conformed with the specification to be generated by an impulse voltage generator by a method wherein a non-linear type resistor device is connected in parallel to the apparatus to be tested. CONSTITUTION:A non-linear type resistor device 11 is connected in parallel to the apparatus 5 to be tested. Energy corresponding to the voltage of the necessitated test voltage flows to the earth through the non-linear type resistor device 11, and accordingly a suppressed voltage waveform is applied to the apparatus 5 to be tested. The peak value of the voltage waveform to be applied to the apparatus 5 to be tested is the necessitated test voltage, and protects the apparatus 5 to be tested from application of excessive voltage, and the voltage waveform having the long wave tail can be generated.
