Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare cyclohexanone in high yield, by oxidizing cyclohexene in liquid phase in the presence of an aliphatic alcohol and a compound type catalyst comprising at least one selected from a Pd compound, Cu compound and Fe compound as a catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: In preparing cyclohexanone by oxidizing cyclohexene with O2, the reaction is carried out in the presence of an alcohol such as ethyl alcohol, propyl alcohol, butyl alcohol and a compound type catalyst comprising at least one compound (preferably a chloride such as palladium chloride, cuprous chloride, cupric chloride, ferrous chloride, ferric chloride, etc., preferably a chloride containing crystal water) selected from a palladium compound, copper compound, and iron compound at room temperature W200°C.
EFFECT: This catalyst exhibits high activity and high selectivity.
USE: A raw material for a monomer of nylon or polyester.
