Abstract

PURPOSE: To form colored film of excellent corrosion-resistance, heat-resistance and abrasion-resistance, by using an electrolytic liquid, adding the salt of the metal varying its valency according to pH to the water solution of oxyacid (or salt thereof) of IVa or Va group elements.
CONSTITUTION: As electrolytic liquid is used as the solution of oxyacid or the salt of oxyacid of IVa or Va group elements to which one or more kinds of the salt of VIb group elements or Mn, Fe, Cu, Co which yield metallic ions varying its valency according to pH are added. An article consisting of a metal at least on its surface is immersed in this electrolytic liquid and electrolyzed using direct current or alternating current. By this, a colored film having uniform thickness and color, excellent corrosion-resistance and abrasion-resistance can be formed on the surface of a metal economically.
