Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent overtemperature of a glow plug in an auxiliary starter device operated with the glow plug, by arranging charge voltage of a timer RC circuit higher than reference voltage and lower than applied voltage and clamping the voltage for a suitable time. CONSTITUTION:At starting operation when a switch A is turned to a side ST, glow plugs G are rapidly increased their temperature by firstly closing a contact Ia during the time limit of a timer T1 and flowing a large current, then an electric current is conducted through a limiting resistor 2 by closing a contact IIa with output of a timer T2. A clamping circuit 3 limits an electric charge of a RC circuit in the time T1 to a level slightly higher than reference voltage and sufficiently lower than applied voltage. At restarting operation, charging voltage in the cold state of an engine is sufficiently lower than the applied voltage, then a capacitor is quickly discharged at temporary off time, and output of the time T1 at on time causes enough time. At warm-up operation, the capacitor is applied with fully high voltage, then time is required for the timer T1 to be not more than set voltage, accordingly, T1 time is short again at on time never to cause excessive feed of a large current.
