Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the number of substances without manpower by installing an ultrasonic wave transmitter and wave receiver opposite to each other and at the both ends of a tube through which the substances flow, and then to give other indications by actuating a valve after a prescribed number substances pass through. CONSTITUTION:A sponge ball 2 delivered out of a ball supply device 1 is led to a tube 3 to be sent to a collector 9 and a condenser circulating water pipeline 5 through a valve 4. An ultrasonic wave transmitter 6 and wave receiver 7 are provided opposite to each other at the outlet side of the valve 4, and the cut-off frequency is detected for the ultrasonic waves that are produced consecutively by a flowing sponge ball 2 and through the wave transmitter 6. The receiver 7 converts the vibration of ultrasonic wave into an electric signal. Then the number of substances is counted by a counter 8, and the electric signal is produced when the counting number reaches a prescribed value. Thus the valve 4 is closed to stop the supply of ball 2.
