Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve local corrosion resistance and to reduce costs by forming a clad steel having the build-up deposited metal of austenitic stainless steel which is of low N, is substituted of part of Mo with Cu and contains a proper amt. of delta-ferrite. CONSTITUTION:This clad steel plate has the build-up deposited metal contg. <=0.06% C, <=1.20% Si, <=2.0% Mn, <=0.01% S, <=15%<Cr<=21%, 8<=Ni<=15%, 0.5%<=Mo<=1.0%, 1.5%<=Cu<=3.0% and <=0.015% N, balance Fe and unavoidable impurities and contg. 3-10% delta-ferrite. If this deposited metal is within the above-mentioned compsn. range, the same high local corrosion resistance is retained despite rolling and therefore it is also possible to form the clad steel plate by hot rolling after the formation of the deposited metal.
