Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the spiral outer diameter when a cable is rolled up tight and to realize a small size of structure for a titled transmitter, by forming both a lengthwise thick part and a thin part to the cable with a space secured in the cable width direction and obtaining uneven surfaces for both sides of an optical cable. CONSTITUTION:An optical cable 3 consists of plural optical fibers 14, plural springy members 15 serving both as tension-resistant members, and an outer sheath 16. Then thick and thin parts 17 and 18 are formed alternately to the cable 3 with a space secured in the width direction of the cable 3. An optical fiber 14 and a member 15 are put adjacent to each other in a part 17, and at the same time the width d2 of the part 17 is smaller than the width d3 of the part 18. Such the cable 3 is spirally set between the outer circumference of a core shaft 1 and the inner circumference of a casing 2 and then rolled up. Thus the upper and lower sides of the cable 3 have contact with each other, and the part 17 slided onto the part 18. As a resut, the spiral outer diameter is decreased when the optical fiber is rolled up tight.
