Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the same good results in the weather resistance test which is carried out for obtaining changes in dynamic strength, external appearance, etc., of samples in which deterioration due to oxygen is accelerated as the results of the outdoor exposure test, by making oxygen partial pressure in the atmosphere of the weather resistance test higher than that in the atmospheric air and by specifying the distance between the light source and the samples. CONSTITUTION:Air pressure in the container 1 of a weather resistance testing machine is adjusted by using a pressure adjusting valve 11, thereby setting the machine so that oxygen partial pressure inside of the container become higher than that in the atmospheric air. A sample holder 5 is then positioned so that the distance between a light source 3 and sample exceeds 10cm. In this state, the water spraying quantity and spraying interval are set and an accelerated weather resistance test is performed. Through this method, deterioration due to ultraviolet irradiation and that due to the atmosphere such as oxygen progress in good balance, and the test results which are in coincidence with the results of the outdoor exposure test can be obtained within a shortened period.
