PURPOSE: A herbicide composition keeping high herbicidal effects and reduced toxicity, obtained by blending a 1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-pyridinium salt with a 1,1',2- trimethyl-4,4'-pyridinium salt and a 1,1',2,2'-tetramethyl-4,4'-pyridinium salt in a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: A composition A comprising 40W60wt% 1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-pyridinium salt (PQ for short) shown by the formula I (X- is inorganic or organic anion), 35W60wt% 1,1'-2-trimethyl-4,4'-pyridinium salt (MMPQ for short) shown by the formula II, and <5wt% 1,1',2,2'-tetramethyl-4,4'-pyridinium salt (DMPQ for short) shown by the formula III, a composition B comprising 40W60wt% PQ, <5wt% MMPQ, and 35W60wt% D<PQ, and a composition C comprising 60W 90wt% PQ, ≤40wt% MMPQ, and ≤40wt% DMPQ.
