Abstract
PURPOSE: An emulsified cosmetic having improved skin protecting effect such as moisture retention, etc. and good feeling in use, comprising a hydrolyzate of a keratin substance, an oxidative decomposition product of a keratin substance, or a derivative at a thiol group of a reductive decomposition product of a keratin substance.
CONSTITUTION: An emulsified cosmetic such as cream, milky lotion, etc., comprising one or more selected from a hydrolyzate of a keratin substance, an oxidative decomposition product of a keratin substance, and a derivative at a thiol group of a reductive product of a keratin substance as a decomposition product of a keratin substance. The above-mentioned keratin substance is a compound leaving no oiliness in the skin, and exhibits performances as an excellent humectant. A hydrolyzate obtained by hydrolyzing a keratin substance with an acid or an alkali, having a molecular weight of 200W5,000 is preferable as the hydrolyzate, and -SCH2COOH, -SSO3H, etc. may be cited as the derivative as a thiol group. Wool, hair and feather are preferable as the raw material for a keratin substance.
