Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve control performance by inputting rolling conditions and elongation percentage to an elongation percentage control device and making the loop gain of a control system constant in a rolling mill which controls elongation percentage through operation of rolling load. CONSTITUTION:A rolling material 1 goes through an elongation percentage detector 6a, is rolled by a rolling mill 2, and is measured of its elongation percentage epsilon by the next elongation percentage detector 6b and the previous detector 6a. The measured elongation percentage epsilon is inputted together with respective rolling conditions to an elongation percentage control device 8 which has beforehand stored the relations between rolling load P and elongation percentage epsilon under the respective rolling conditions. The output P0 from the device 8 is the target rolling load value of a pressure control system, and the pressure control system operates in such a manner that the rolling load P coincides with the target value P0, so that the material 1 is rolled in a manner as to have the elongation percentage equal to the target value epsilon0.
