Abstract

PURPOSE:To decompose an odorant exhaust gas to deodorize it passing the gas by the heat-conductive fins of a heat-fixing metallic plate to preheat the gas and a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A transfer paper or a photosensitive paper passes over the surface of a fixing plate 2, heat-fixed, and extruded. An odorant gas evolved at that time is introduced between the thin metallic plates 11 of heat-conductive fins 8 provided under the preheating plate 4 formed beneath the plate 2 by means of a blower 6 to preheat and activate the gas. A catalyst layer 9 is heated and comes into contact with the gas to decompose and deodorize the gas, thus permitting the odorant exhaust gas evolving from the fixing section to be deodorized extremely effectively as well as energy consumption to be saved.
