Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a step motor by using an AC power source as the power source for the motor as it is, thereby eliminating a transformer and a large capacitor. CONSTITUTION:When a power switch 2 is closed, a capacitor 10 is charged in half wave to form a DC power source. A zero cross pulse generator 8 generates a pulse in the vicinity of zero voltage of the waveform of the power voltage. This pulse output is inputted to a counter 7, and is counted for odd numbers, and a pulse is then generated at odd pulses, for example, at each 3 pulses. A transistor 6 is driven by the output to flow a current to the gate of a triac 3, thereby triggering the triac 3. Accordingly, the half wave of the AC power source is alternately applied in positive and negative to the coil 4 of the step motor, and the step motor is rotated at every constant angle synchronously with the pulse.
