Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve the easy and continuous production of a diaphragm which has water resisting property improves and high internal loss by mixing adhesive short fiber with thermoplastic synthetic pulp, by making them into paper, and by performing thermal formation. CONSTITUTION:For example, 80wt% high-density synthetic pulp of polyethylene is used as a base, and 5wt% polyamide adhesive fiber (copolymer of nylon 6, nylon 6.6 and nylon 12) with 6mm. fiber length and 30 denier, 5wt% carbon fiber (6mm. fiber length), and 5wt% aramide fiber (2mm. fiber length) are added as reinforcing agents; and they are mixed well by a disaggregation machine to be made into paper. This sheet of paper is heated by a hot plate (180 deg.C) and then treated by cold press formation when the sheet is softened, thus obtaining a speaker diaphragm. This diaphragm has an adequately large modulus of elasticity and sufficiently large internal loss to have flat frequency characteistics. Further, the continuous thermal formation of more than one sheet is achieved.
