Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve supercharge pressure at medium and low speed operation, by providing a bypass hole, communicating to a pair of exhaust passages in a turbine case, and an exhaust bypass mechanism open-close controllable with a single valve unit. CONSTITUTION:A turbine case 1 of double entry type comprises a pair of exhaust passages 14a, 14b and a bypass passage 13 communicated to a main exhaust hole 8. A valve body 12 mounted to a stay 11 is equipped to the bypass passage 13 to partially flow exhaust gas directly to an exhaust pipe. In this way, bypass action of exhaust gas passing through a paired exhaust passage 14 can be performed by a single bypass mechanism, and mutual interference of a pressure wave can be eliminated to effectively feed pulse energy of exhaust gas to a turbine.
