Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst having superior ozone decomposing power at low temp. and durability by adding specific ratios of an oxide of Co and Ag to MnO2 as an azone decomposing catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: An oxide of Co such as the product of precipitation of cobalt nitrate and sodium hydroxide having 1W20% in terms of atom % of Co and 0.1W20wt%, more preferably, 0.5W10wt% Ag are added to MnO2 as an ozone decomposing catalyst. The catalyst obtained in this way has superior ozone decmposing performance at low temp., more particularly around 50°C, and has durability, whereby it is useful.
