Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a shaft grounding device adapted for high and low speeds of a rotary electric machine by securing one end side of a grounding piece made of woven copper wires to the body of the device and continuing the other end side with a load adding unit for pressing the other end side toward the shaft of the machine. CONSTITUTION:The bracket 20 of a shaft grounding device is secured with bolts 21, 21 to the end face of a bearing case 1. The bracket 20 is formed approximately in L shape in section, and the projecting side 20a is interposed at the grounding piece 22 together with a mounting plate 23. The piece 22 is formed by loop weaving copper strands made of twisted copper wires by an ordinary weaving machine in a slender piece. The piece 22 is mounted at its one end on the bracket 20, and is vertically hung at the other end to a shaft 8, and the end 22a is contacted with the shaft 8. A superposed part 24 is secured through a fixing member 25 to the upper surface of the end 22a, thereby suitably maintaining the surface pressure to the shaft 8 of the end 22a. In this manner, long continuous operation can be performed, thereby obtaining extremely preferably characteristics at the peripheral speed are in wide range.
