Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce vibration misengagement of a chain efficiently by holding a pair of leaf springs, arranged parallelly, by a supporting member which can displace the ends of these leaf springs along the incoming and outgoing points to and from engagement of the ratchet with the chain. CONSTITUTION:This tensioner 1 is composed of a slider 5 coupled solidly with two leaf springs 10, interposedly, through elastic supporting pieces 11, 12, 13 and a supporting member 7 which is inclined upper inward to the bosses 22 at the both sides of the ends, excavated with circular arc-shaped end cam holes 23, 24 for insertion of a supporting pin 15, and provided with a mounting piece 26 in its middle. In the middle of this supporting member 7 the center cam hole 27 is excavated vertically. The curve of these end cam holes 23, 24 and center cam hole 27 is determined in compliance with the curve of movement of the point of incoming and outgoing points of ratchet's engagement with the chain, and a support pin 15 and guide pin 20 of the slider 5 are put in engagement.
