PURPOSE:To achieve automatical optical adjustment with good accuracy, by making coarse adjustment of focus and adjustment of optical axis with a simple pattern and positioning with a fine tuning pattern. CONSTITUTION:When a pattern 4a is picked up at a cemera 1, the image is obtained at a receiving sensor 2. The output voltage to this image is changed with a value of distance Z between a camera 1 and a sensor 2, and the position to this maximum luminance becomes a correct focus.
