Abstract
PURPOSE:To stably and efficiently burn carbonaceous fuel in all forms of liquid, gas, and solid, by designing a combustor so as to expedite combustion by generating hydrogen by decomposing water by heat, and by injecting the hydrogen into the flame of the carbonaceous fuel. CONSTITUTION:When a combustion is started, first, fuel in a fuel tank 12 is fed into a burner 10 to burn it, and a water decomposer 20 is heated by the flame on a burner 10, as well as by a boiler (not shown), and the like. Then, hydrogen is generated in a water decomposer 20, as a result of reaction of minute pieces of titanium 28 in a decomposing chamber 23 upon the water fed nto the chamber23 from a water injector 24. The generated hydrogen is injected into the flame 11 on a burner 10 from a nozzle 25 through a filter 27, and is burnt in the flame 11. The water is fed into the above-mentioned water injector 24 by a water supplying means 30, which is designed to feed the water in a water tank 31 into the water injector 24, by a solenoid-operated valve 33 and a pump 32 which are actuated when a water decomposer 20 reaches the predetermined temperature and a thermostat 34 functions.
