Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture the titled alloy with high wear resistance by adding metallic sulfide to an iron material for sintering contg. C and Mn after which they are press-molded and sintered.
CONSTITUTION: Metallic sulfide is added to a material for sintering consisting of 2.0W3.0wt% C, 3.0W7.0wt% Mn and the balance Fe, and the resultant alloy is press-molded. The molding is then sintered at ≥1,130°C in a vacuum or in an inert gas. By this method a sintered alloy with high hardness and high density can be obtd. When this sintered alloy is used as a sliding member requiring wear resistance, the life of the member is improved remarkably.
