Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the amount of the precipitate having precipitated inside piping, by disposing the first ultrasonic flowmeter on the lower surface of piping and the second and third ultrasonic flowmeters above the first flowmeter, and measuring the difference between the flow rates obtained by the first and third radio transmitter-receivers and that between the second and third radio transmitter-receivers. CONSTITUTION:A transducer 14 is disposed at the outside upper part of piping 11 on the upstream side, and a transducer 13 is disposed on the downstream side at the position relative to the transducer 14. Moreover, a transducer 12 is mounted on the outside lower surface of the piping. The transducers 13, 12 are connected with a switching circuit 15, which is further connected to a transmitter-receiver circuit 16. The transducer 14 is connected to the transmitter- receiver circuit 16. The detection values by the transducers 12, 13 and the transducers 13, 14 are monitored by a comparator circuit 17. When errors in both the circuits are outputted exceeding a given range, the existence of precipitate 18 can be detected in the piping 11.
