Abstract
PURPOSE:To impart corrosion resistance, shock resistance and abrasion resistance to an iron or steel body by a method wherein an anticorrosive coating material is coated on the surface of the iron or steel body, a heat-insulating sheet having an adhesive property is wound around the coated steel body, thereafter a layer of a heat-shrinkable resin or rubber is provided thereon and it is shrunk by heating. CONSTITUTION:An anticorrosive coating material is coated on the surface of the iron or steel body 1 to form an anticorrosive film 2, the heat-insulating sheet 3 having an adhesive property is wound around the coated surface, thereafter the layer 4 of a heat-shrinkable resin or rubber is provided thereon and is shrunk to make the anticorrosive coating integral with the body 1. Accordingly, the iron or steel body 1 to be used in seawater is provided with corrosion resistance by the anticorrosive film 2 and it is enhanced in shock resistance, abrasion resistance and in resistance to absorption of water by the adhesive heat-insulating sheet 3 and the layer 4 or the heat-shrinkable resin or rubber, resulting in that the body 1 can be provided with a longer durability.
