Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the dust collection efficiency of an electric dust collector which consists of a plane dust-collecting electrode and discharge electrodes and to prevent dust from rescattering, by providing the dust collecting electrode at an intermediate position between the discharge electrodes with rectangular prism bodies in a specific shape.
CONSTITUTION: An electric dust collector consists of counter dust-collecting electrodes 1" and discharge electrodes 2 provided in the flow direction G of dust. The dust-collecting electrode 1" is provided with the opposed rectangular prism parts 5 which have space 7 of which lower ends are internally opened and project into dust collection space. A circle (b) having each discharge electrode 2 is nearly circumscribed with the dust-collecting electrode 1" and the rectangular prism parts 5. The entire area of the dust-collecting electrode 1" is at substantially equal distance from the discharge electrode 2, so superior dust collection efficiency is obtained. Dust sticking to the dust-collecting electrode 1" is introduced to the inside space 7 of the rectangular prism body part 5 by hammering the dust- collecting electrode 1", thus preventing rescattering.
