Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a normal body from being rejected as a defective in error by discriminating between a joint and a defective part by extracting plural- frequency-band components from the output signal of a sensor and performing the decision by binary coding which uses a high-sensitivity and a low-sensitivity level. CONSTITUTION:The output signal of an optical fiber sensor 31 is inputted to frequency-band emphasizing circuits 32 and 33 to extract a high-frequency and an intermediate-frequency component, which are binary-coded by comparing circuits 34 and 36, and 35 and 37 which have different comparison levels. To solve an output of a similar multiple defective, a low-frequency-component emphasizing circuit 38 and a comparing circuit 39 are further provided. The outputs of the circuits 34 and 35 are inputted to an interval decision processing part 41, and those of the circuits 36, 37, and 39 are inputted to a multiple-defective decision processing part 42 to check their correlation, thus discriminating between a defective and an imcomplete joint.
