Abstract

PURPOSE:To early detect the abnormality of an extraction check valve for a steam turbine, by finding out the temperature between the extraction check valve and the turbine and comparing the temperature with normal data stored in a computer. CONSTITUTION:Receiving a turbine stop signal 16, a detector 13 finds out the temperature of extraction. Temperature data for a prescribed time are obtained to determine the temperature-drop characteristic, which is compared with a reference temperature-drop characteristic previously stored in a computer 14. When an extraction valve 9 is normal, the ratio between passed time and the drop DELTATa in the temperature of extraction during the stoppage of a turbine is approximate to that between passed time and the reference temperature drop DELTATb. When the extraction check valve 9 is abnormal, the ratio between passed time and the temperature drop DELTATa' is greatly different from that between passed time and the reference temperature drop DELTATb. Therefore, the abnormality of the valve 9 can be detected by comparison.
