Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the titled printing ink compsn. having excellent rapid ultraviolet curing characteristics, emulsification properties, ease of washing, blanket swelling characteristics, etc., by using a specified org. ester compd. and a petroleum solvent-soluble solid resin as main vehicle components.
CONSTITUTION: 40W85pts.wt. compd. (A) of the formula (wherein R1, R2 are each H, CH3 ; R3 is a 1W6C alkylene), 50W5pts.wt. petroleum solvent-soluble solid resin (B) such as a cyclic Ketone resin, a petroleum resin or an arom. hydrocarbon-formaldehyde resin, and 2W20pts.wt. photopolymerization initiator (C) such as benzoin, are mixed together to produce the desired ultraviolet-curing printing ink compsn. A process for producing component A comprises reacting one mol of an alcohol component such as bis(4-hydroxy cyclohexyl) methane with 2 mol of an acid component such as (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of an esterification reaction catalyst.
