Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a polymer compsn. having improved electrically charging properties without deteriorating characteristics which the polymer originally possesses, by blending a specified zwitter ion compd. or a metal salt thereof with a polymer.
CONSTITUTION: A zwitter ion compd. of formulaI[wherein R1 is a 1W26C hydrocarbon group; R2 is H, lower alkyl; R3 is alkylene, phenylene, aralkylene; X1 is H, OH or a group of formula II (wherein M is a metal ion; n is the valency of M); X2, X3 are each H or a group of formula III; a, b, c are each 0 or an integer with the proviso that a+b+c=1W200]or a metal salt thereof is blended with a polymer. The blending ratio of said polymer to said zwitter ion compd. or its metal salt varies depending on the type of the polymer and the MW of the zwitter ion compd. Generally, it is preferred to use the zwitter ion compd. in an amount of 0.05W10wt% based on the amount of the polymer. When the amount of the zwitter ion compd. is insufficient, the improvement effect is poor. When the amount is too much, there is a possibility of damaging characteristics which the polymer originally possesses.
