Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate easily side band components of a color signal mixed in the high band of a luminance signal, by making the pitch of a blind sector including an overflow drain equal to the pitch of the center picture element out of three picture elements. CONSTITUTION:Respective pitches of three picture elements 4-6 whose one set and one overflow drain pair up are denoted as taua, taub, and tauc. The pitch of the region of a blind sector 7 including the overflow drain is denoted as taud. The picth taud of the blind sector is set to a value equal to the pitch taub of the center picture elements of one set of three picture elements. At this time, the pitch taud is not equal to the pitch taua and the pitch tauc. Thus, the phase difference between picture elements 4 and 6 in both sides is pi for a pitch tauss formed by respective picture elements in the horizontal direction. A high band signal of the luminance signal is generated from primary color signals R and G obtained from picture elements 4 and 6.
