Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect infrared rays preventing the crosstalk due to the diffusion of heat and heightening the space resolution, by using a pyroelectric type linear array element spatially separated and hung in midair a photosensitive part of each element. CONSTITUTION:A window 56 is punched at the central part of a supporting substrate 54 and the end part of a pyroelectric element 51 is stuck and is fixed by an electrically conductive adhesive 55 and a photosensitive part 57 is held in a hanging state. An output signal electrode 52 is separated at every each element and an earthing electrode 53 of each element is connected around a central part 50 of the substrate 54. In such a manner, a temperature rise of the element by the infrared output is high by a portion of a little heat diffusion because the element is not brought into contact with the supporting board and the sensitivity is high by separating the photosensitive part and also, hanging in midair.
