Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the formation of uniform and dense zinc phosphate films possible by using an aq. alkaline soln. contg. respective ions of titanium, phosphoric acid, pyrophosphoric acid and carbonic acid as essential components as the titled conditioning agent.
CONSTITUTION: This surface conditioning agent for zinc phosphate treatment is an aq. soln. prepd. by contg., by ppm, 1W100 titanium ions 50W1,500 phosphoric acid radical ions, 10W30 pyrophosphoric acid radical ions and 20W1,500 carbonic acid radical ions as essential components and controlling pH to 8.5W9.5. If the surfaces of ferrous materials are treated with this conditioning agent, the uniform and dense chemical conversion films having no irregularities are formed in subsequent zinc phosphate treatments. This conditioning agent is stable over a long period of time after the preparation.
