Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer recording medium, which is designed to prevent re-transfer of heat-sensing ink, by providing between a heat-sensitive ink layer and a substrate paper a thermal melting re-transfer preventing layer which is transparent or an extremely light color being almost colorless. CONSTITUTION:On a substrate paper 1, a several-micron re-transfer preventing layer 2, which is thermal melting or thermal sublimating and transparent or an extremely light color being almost colorless (such as, paraffin wax, etc.), and a heat-sensing ink layer 3, which is prepared by dispersing colored pigment or dyestuff in a hinder having the same chemical composition as the re-transfer preventing layer, are arranged in turn to provide a thermal transfer recording medium. On the section of a recording paper 4 where an image information is to be handled, transfer is made in such an arrangement that the heat-sensing ink layer 3 comes to the inside and the re-transfer preventing layer 2 comes to the outside, and when scribing is made with a pencil 5 from the reverse side of the recording paper 4, a part of the re-transfer preventing layer 2 is transferred onto a paper 6 and the heat-sensitive ink layer is not transferred, and therefore, the paper 6 is prevented from being smeared.
