Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce BOD of sludge as well as to carry out breeding an aquatic animal or the like by mounting a pool or a fish preserve made of a plastics, rubber, wood or a net on a methane fermentation tank into which a sludge layer of rivers or the like is sunk.
CONSTITUTION: A sludge layer 3 of rivers, lakes or marshes, a fresh water shallow sea or harbor is covered with a tank main body 1 which is an open bottom box with an exhaust pipe 2 in an open caisson system to form a methane fermentation tank. Further, a pool or a fish preserve 6 is stacked on the tank main body 1 as well as a floater 7 and a bore 8 passing an exhaust pipe 2 are attached thereto and an anchor 5 is also provided thereto. The tank main body 1 is formed from concrete, plastics, foamed plastics, wood subjected to anti-corrosion treatment or the like. In starting methane fermentation, sludge containing methane producing microorganism may be poured from the exhaust pipe 2.
