Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve musical performance effect by achieving recording like musical performance in a big hall by optionally setting the reflectivity of ambient sound in the performance hall and the dimensions of the hall, and also by setting the position of a sound image by each musical instrument. CONSTITUTION:A signal generated by a synthesizer, etc., is applied to an input terminal and then branched to signal paths 2 and 3 for a left and a right channel, and the signals from the signal paths 2 and 3 are inputted to gain control amplifiers 4 and 5, whose outputs are inputted to echo units 6 and 7, and reverberation devices 8 and 9. Those devices 6 and 7 input the nature of space set by a space nature setting means 11, and also input the dimensions of the space set by a space dimensions setting means 12. Similarly, the devices 8 and 9 input the nature and dimensions of the space set by the means 11 and 12. Then, stereophonic recording of the signal for independent performance generated by the synthesizer, etc., is enabled by adding echo and reverberation effects like the performance of sounds played in a big hall.
