Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a product having improved freshness retained for a long term after the removal of the astringency therefrom, by enclosing and packaging an astringent persimmon with a gas absorbing agent in a plastic film, and removing the astringency therefrom.
CONSTITUTION: An astringent persimmon and a gas absorbing agent, e.g. an oxygen absorbing agent, gaseous carbon dioxide absorbing agent or ethylenic absorbing agent, are enclosed and packaged in a plastic film having a high gas barrier property, e.g. "KNF"/PE film, and the plastic film, and the plastic film containing the persimmon is allowed to stand at room temperature.
