Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the information necessary for operation and control easily by measuring the flow rate and composition of the gas produced from a digestion tank continuously, and operating the concn. of the liquid component in the tank.
CONSTITUTION: Sewer sludge, night soil, garbage, etc. are charged into a digestion tank 1, where they are subjected to anaerobic digestion. Gases are produced by the decomposition of org. matter. These gases are desulfurized with a desulfurizer 3, and flow into a gas flowmeter 4, by which the flow rate is measured continuously. Further, the gases flow into a gas analyzer 5, and the mathane and CO2 in the produced gases or one of these is measured continuously. The flow rates and analyzed values thereof are inputted to an arithmetic part 6, where prescribed operations are carried out, and the rate f decomposition reaction in the tank 1 or the concn. of the liquid component in the tank increasing and decreasing with decompositon reaction is calculated. In accordance with the results of these operations, the biochemical reaction progressing in the tank 1 is quantitatively monitored.
