Abstract
PURPOSE:To lessen the whirling of a bar and to decrease thickness deviation by holding the front or rear of plural press rollers which hold a shell and a bar by means of plural rollers of deviated phases. CONSTITUTION:Levers 12, 11 are turned clockwise by a cylinder 15 to press a roller 13 to a plug supporting bar 1. Then, a trunnion 14 abuts on a nut 18, thereby pulling a rod 17 upward and pressing a roller 6 to the bar 1. Also, it pulls a connecting rod 7, thereby pressing a roller 23 to the bar 1. Next, when levers 27, 28, 29 are turned clockwise by a cylinder 37, a cylinder 35 with its rod held locked moves upward so that a roller 34 is pressed to the bar 1 and connecting rods 41, 43 are pulled, then rollers 42, 45 hold down the bar 1. The holding rollers 34, 45, 42 before or behind the press rollers 6, 13, 23 enclose the bar 1 in the state of deviated phases, thereby lessening the whirling of the central locus of the bar 1.
