Abstract

PURPOSE: To output a desired book type without exchange of a paper, by a method wherein a perforation output mechanism is mounted at a line printer device, and an output position and inteval of a perforation are controlled by a control information by software.
CONSTITUTION: A perforation output mechanism 28 consists of a hammer 69 provided with a perforation output cutter 69, a ush rod 66, and a modified platen 67, and is situated at a front stage or a rear stage of a printing mechanism 211. Meanwhile, a perforation control information table is mounted on a main memory of an information processing system, to store a perforation position, a perforation intrval, a perforation shape therein. The information are transferred to a perforation mechanism 28 through a CPU, a channel, an interface adapter 25, and a perforation control buffer MCB 27 to output the perforation to a desired position on a paper 68 for a printer and at desired interval.
