Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to use a valve body of an exhaust gas reflux valve commonly for various kinds of automobile engines by fitting an orifice of a large bore into the valve body without the shape of the valve body being altered so that an exhaust gas passage is enlarged for suitably using the valve body for a large size diesel engine.
CONSTITUTION: A diaphragm 2 compresses a spring 3 to lift a valve 5 when engine vacuum is introduced into a vacuum chamber 1 through a nipple 15, so that a part of exhaust gas is recirculated from an opening portion 14 to the intake side of an engine. An orifice 16 is pressingly fitted into a valve body 7, and a coupling nut 8 screwed into the valve body 7 is tightened after the end flared portion of a pipe 19 is held between the lower seat portion 17 of the valve body 7 and the coupling nut 18 so that the orifice 16 and the pipe 19 are hermetically fixed together. The valve body 7 having an orifice of a small bore screwed thereinto may be used for a small size gasoline or diesel engine, but the valve body 7 having an orifice of a large bore pressingly fitted thereinto as shown in the figure may be used for a large size diesel engine, in order to recirculate exhaust gas, thereby the valve body may be commonly used for various type engines, irrespective of the volume of reflux.
