Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the stress corrosion cracking in the furnace top dome part of a hot stove and to improve the thermal efficiency of the hot stove by constituting said dome part of inside and outside double sheet iron shells segmented and reinforced with a large number of diametral ribs, and circulating and flowing a heat medium in the inside thereof.
CONSTITUTION: The furnace top dome part 1 of a hot stove is made into double construction of an inside sheet iron shell 2 and an outside sheet iron shell 3, and the cavity between the inside and outside shells is segmented to communicating passages 5 in a diametral direction and the construction thereof is reinfoced with diametral ribs 4. Heat flowmeters 12 are mounted to the shoulder, body and waist parts of the dome part 1, and the temps. on the inner side of the shell 2 with these heat flowmeters 12 are measured. By the value thereof, the circulation flow of a heat medium which is liquid or gas in the communicating passages is controlled, whereby the temp. distributions in the shell 2 of the dome part are held always at above the acid dew point temp. and the generation of stress corrosion cracking owing to NOX, SOX, etc. in combustion gases is prevented. If gaseous fuel for heating the hot stove or combustion air is used as the heat medium, it is possible to recover the dissipated quantity of heat in the dome part and to improve the thermal efficiency of the furnace.
